  • We treat clients with respect and expect to be treated with respect.
  • We strive for quality in every service we provide.
  • We complete projects cost-effectively and efficiently.
  • We're sensitive to the needs of the people we serve.

Our history

  1. 1982

Snow Belt Housing Company, Inc. began as part of Lewis County Opportunities, Inc., and was established that year as its own private, nonprofit Rural Preservation Company.

  2. Since

We've applied for and received federal, state and local grants to deliver housing and community renewal to income-eligible residents, including yearly Rural Preservation Program funding from New York State Homes and Community Renewal.

  3. Today

Up to 15 staff in our Lowville office, governed by an eight-member volunteer board. More than $21 million has been invested in Lewis County since 1982, with at least one project completed in every town.
